I am absolutely heartbroken to be writing about ye

I am absolutely heartbroken to be writing about yet another great loss in our family - Carmel Bulger, our ‘Marmie’, passed away yesterday morning, following our Papa. Their love was something indescribable, something only truly seen and understood by the swiftness of everlasting departure. I grew up watching Marmie and Papa dance to Nat King Coles ‘Autumn Leaves’ and have never forgotten the space that they created around them for us all to see - a small sliver of true, embodied soul. Now drifting in a land that time forgot, they can continue that dance to Autumn Leaves - as it should be.

Losing 3 family members in 3 months has taught me not only the power of grief, but how spectacular life truly is - how loss leads to regeneration of memory, closeness of family and fuelled fire to find and love people that can make you FEEL so deeply. Today we said goodbye to a man that towered with strength, integrity and undying love for his family - our Papa. Swing dancing in the kitchen, always being caught in the ‘bear trap’ and experiencing an astonishing 60 year marriage to our Marmie is just a few of the astounding memories that we will always carry.

An incredibly tough day turned into a beautiful one. This bright steel was caught in the exact spot my dad found out his Ma passed, which is now named ‘Franny’s Rock’.

A 15 minute fight, a huge boulder snag (thought she was a goner), an unbelievable Andrei Agassi back-handed net job from @calmwatersflyfishing and finally a sighed ‘hello’.

Sound On - Frances Parks
Yesterday our family lost the incredible ray of light that was my Grandmother, Frances. A concert pianist and voracious golfer, she played through life with unrelenting laughter and happiness - both of which enveloped everyone who had the pleasure of being beside her.

For 31 years I’ve watched my Father and Aunt be best friends with their Ma, someone who they played golf with all their lives and danced around the cottage here on Puslinch Lake. I’ve learned from them that the richness of family is everything. I will always be grateful to have this lesson, and to have had so much time with the purest of them all.

Arrow is a fan of making extremely derpy faces, exploding through the forest and doing somersaults in big fern patches. Her favourite river is the Maitland and her favourite toys are snails. If she turns a corner ahead of me, she always looks back to make sure I’m right behind.
